Elsie Rescigno of Jessup died Monday May 29, 2017 at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was the widow of Anthony Rescigno who died in 1993.
Born in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late Theresa and Gastoni Porola Gastone. A graduate of Jessup High School, prior to retirement she was employed by Loftus Drug Store.
Elsie loved to bake and her specialty cookie was biscotti. She generously gave cookies to friends and family; along with giving candy to the children at the bus stop located in front of her house.
She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Mary’s Church until its closing and its Altar and Rosary Societies.
Surviving is a daughter Noreen Marciano and husband Frank, Peckville; granddaughter Cara Hanes and husband Mark, Redondo Beach, CA; sisters-in-law Pauline Cherra and husband Sam, Angeline Cerniglia and husband Frank, all of Scranton, and Josephine Crane, the Villages, FL; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 8:30 A.M. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 At Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montdale. Friends and family may call Wednesday (Today) from 5-7 p.m.
