Obituary for Joseph "Duby" Dubas

Joseph "Duby"  Dubas
Joseph “Duby” Dubas of Olyphant died Monday September 4, 2017 at home following a brief illness. His wife is the former Blanche Motil.
Born in Scranton he was the son of Margaret Toth Dubas and the late Albert Dubas. A graduate of Olyphant High School he proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and was a boxer in the service. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a crane operator for the Tobyhanna Army Depot and was also the owner operator of Dubas Excavation.
Joe was an avid antique car collector. He was a hard worker who loved his family very much. He was a member of St. Adalbert’s Polish National Church.
Joe’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff for his care at Mid-Valley Health Care, CMC Hospital and VNA Hospice.
Also surviving are son John and wife Cara, Jessup; daughters Theresa Dubas, Olyphant; Helen Yazdzik and husband Kevin, Olyphant, and Donna Dubas, Maryland; grandchildren Jimmy and wife Erika, Maggie, Joshua, Luke, Ryan, and Tyler; great-granddaughter Quinn; brother Albert Dubas, Olyphant; sister Diane Ceci, Bath; nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by brother Robert Dubas.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 9:00 A.M. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Funeral Mass at 10:000 A.M. in St. Adalbert’s Polish National Church 515 Mary St. Dickson City. Interment with Military Honors to follow in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.
