Mary Ann Kordish of Jessup died Friday January 12, 2018 at home following a brief illness.
Born in Peckville she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna Babitz Taramelli. Educated in Jessup schools, she was the owner of Trina’s Restaurant in Jessup and prior to her retirement she was employed in the local garment industry.
She was an avid sports fan and supported the Boston Red Sox and the Valley View Cougars. She would follow her kids to all of their sporting events and enjoyed having her lunches with her grandchildren. Above all she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary Ann’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Allied Hospice, especially to Barb Schlasta, Deb McGrath, and Mickey Aldrich. And also to family friend Ann Maslar for all she did in the last few days for their mother.
Surviving are daughters Mary Ann Vancil, Texas; Donna Kordish with whom she resided and who was Mom’s nurse and angel in taking care of her the past month; sons Gabriel Kordish, Jessup, Joseph Kordish, Blakely; daughters-in-law Robin and Lisa Kordish; grandchildren Jim Kasarda and wife Teanna, Kassandra Kordish and fiancé Ryan Romanaskas, John Paul Vancil, Kourtney, Tanner, and Mason Kordish; great-grandchildren Ty and Tucker Kasarda, and Nova Romanaskas; brother Thomas and Bobby Taramelli; sisters Pauline Dippel and Barbara Clementson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son Randy Kordish; brother Alfred Taramelli Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 am in Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday morning from 10 am until service time. Arrangements are under the care of the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup.
