Dennis R. Witiak of Olyphant died Thursday February 15, 2018 at home. His wife of 55 years is the former Linda Rogers.
Born in Carbondale he was the son of the late Metro and Helen Sopko Witiak. A graduate of Olyphant High School, he proudly served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a printer for the Scranton Times.
Dennis was a member of the Dickson City American Legion Post #0665 and the Olyphant Bow Rod and Gun Club. He was known as a handy man but above all was an avid and exceptional outdoorsman who excelled at hunting and fishing that would take him to exotic locales across the world. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are son Todd, Virginia; daughters Denise Evans and husband Ted, Olyphant, and Rebekah Witiak, Carbondale; grandchildren Teddy Evans, Virginia and Lindsey Evans, Connecticut; brother James Witiak, Eynon; sister-in-law Elaine Witiak, Throop; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother Demetrius Witiak; sister-in-law Marjann Witiak.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home 1003 Church St. Jessup. Interment in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst will be private at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday morning from 9:00 am until service time.
