Obituary for Francis B. Steindel

Francis B. Steindel, 92, of North Plainfield, N.J., died Friday at home. His wife, Margaret Leach Steindel, died in 1989.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Robert and Mary Rudolph Steindel, he was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and, before his retirement, he owned and operated a steel fabrication company in North Plainfield. He loved his children and family, and enjoyed fishing and being with the guys at the American Legion.
Appreciation goes out to Frank Broderick and John Hicks who helped and cared for Francis in his time of need.
Surviving are his sister, Rose; nieces, nephews and cousins; and his cat, Charlie.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Carl; his daughter, Beverley Eckel and her husband, John; four brothers, Robert, Joseph, Leo and Edgar; and three sisters, Ella, Mary and Florence.
The funeral will be Thursday with a service at noon in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup. Interment, St. Michael’s Cemetery, Jessup.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday morning from 11 until the service time. Donations may be made in Francis’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
