Obituary for Ida Marie Liberty

Ida Marie Liberty, 87, a lifelong Jessup resident, passed away Tuesday in Florida, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Eugene T. Liberty Sr., who died in 1976.
Born in Jessup, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late John and Mary Cossa Mancia, and was a graduate of Jessup High School and a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Church, Queen of Angels Parish in Jessup. Before her retirement, she worked for many years in the local garment industry as a seamstress.
Ida was a devout Catholic who helped with church activities, and she also loved to cook and spend time working in the garden.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene T. Liberty Jr. and wife, Winnie, Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren, Megan Santjer and Brook Liberty; a great-grandson, John Santjer; nieces and nephews, June Fordiani, Lee Mancia, Paul Mancia, Carol Simoncelli, John J. Mancia and Paulette Smith.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Simoncelli; and two brothers, John Mancia and Dominic Mancia.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 at Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael’s Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Entombment, St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, Montdale.
