Obituary for Joseph M. Gasper

Joseph M. Gasper of Jessup died Saturday at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton following a brief illness. His wife is the former Lisa Swatt, and they would have celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary May 20.
Born in Peckville, son of Joseph Gasper and the late Mary Gerek Gasper, he was a graduate of Valley View High School. Before his illness, he was employed by Cinram.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and go trapping and was a self-taught carpenter. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Jessup VFW Post 5544.
Above all, he was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. He was willing to do anything for anyone without giving it a thought and wouldn’t expect anything in return. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are sons, Joseph and fiancée, Lindsey Munley; and Christopher and fiancée, Kelly Sokol; brothers, Andrew and wife, Lisa; and David and fiancée, Denise Wormuth, all of Jessup; mother-in-law, Marie Dzwieleski Swatt; father-in-law, Stephen Swatt and wife, Antoinette; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by infant twin siblings, Joseph and Mary Elizabeth.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael’s Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. Michael’s Cemetery, Jessup.
