Obituary for A.J. Veno

A.J. Veno, 22, of Archbald died Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at home following his struggle with addiction. He had years of love and support from his family and friends.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Arthur C. and Maryann Santarelli Veno. A graduate of Valley View High School, class of 2013, and of the McCann School of Business, class of 2016. He was employed by the family business of Santarelli & Sons Oil Co.
He was an avid Penn State football and North Carolina basketball fan. He loved spending time at Lake Wallenpaupack boating and jet skiing and building nightly camp fires.
AJ’s family would like to thank his friends, Jake, Nick and Tyler for their love and support during his most trying times.
Also surviving are siblings, Nikalina and Noah Veno, both at home; maternal grandmother, Elaine Santarelli; paternal grandparents, Tony and Pat Veno; godmother, Michelle Santarelli; godfather, Tony Veno Jr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by infant brother, Fernando Veno; maternal grandfather, Fernando Santarelli; uncle, Kenneth Santarelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 1101 Willow St., Peckville. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in A.J.’s name to St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509, Ladies in Pink, 131 Basalyga St., Jessup, PA 18434, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup.
