Esther Racht Zielinski of Jessup died Thursday December 21, 2017 at home. She was the widow of Nikolas Zielinski who died on November 11, 2012.
Born in South Canaan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Esther Kowtko Racht. A graduate of Lake Ariel High School, Class of 1954, prior to her retirement she was a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Carbondale.
Esther enjoyed reading, gardening, and going to the casino.
Surviving are six children, Steven and wife, Sandra, Virginia Beach, Va.; Susan Sell and husband, Mike, Jefferson Twp.; John, Jessup; James and wife, Laurie, Jefferson Twp.; Lee Ann Zielinski Yeselavage, Jessup; and Matthew and wife, Marian, Chicago; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 2 step great-granchildren; sisters Elenora Opalka, Carbondale, Gloria Boss, Yardley, and Joan Buchinski and husband Dennis, Waymart; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister Mary Ann.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dundaff Street, Dickson City. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, Justus. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
