Bruce E. Wheeler of Peckville died Saturday February 10, 2018 at the Dunmore Healthcare Center following a battle with Parkinson’s Disease. His wife of 47 years is the former Sarann Neary.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Robert P. and Madelyn Mahony Wheeler. Educated in Scranton schools, prior to his retirement he was employed by I. Kaplan Inc., in Olyphant.
Bruce enjoyed football and was an avid New York Giants fan. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a social member of the Shopa Davey VFW Post #6082 in Peckville where he had made many close friends.
Bruce’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff with Allied Hospice and also to the nurses and staff at the Dunmore Health Care Center, especially to his granddaughter Brittany Wheeler who is a nurse at Dunmore Health Care Center for her exceptional care.
Also surviving are sons Bruce, Peckville, Sean and wife Cheri, Jermyn, and Richard and wife Beth, Boyertown; grandchildren Marissa, Brittany, Sean P., Bruce, Ryanne, and Estelle Wheeler; great-grandchild Brooklyn Wheeler; brother Robert Wheeler, Peckville; sisters Rita Stivala and Karen Wheeler, both of Scranton.
Friends and family may pay their respects Tuesday from 10 am until Noon in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home 1003 Church St. Jessup. A celebration of Bruce’s life will follow at Pietro’s Restaurant in Jessup.
