Obituary for Robert L. Weston

Robert L. Weston, 84, of Jessup died Sunday July 15, 2018 at home. His wife of 60 years is the former Diana Palazzari.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Louis and Dina Tassi Weston. Robert was a graduate of Jessup High School, Class of 1950. He earned an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Lackawanna Junior College. Prior to retirement he was employed as the District Manager for Seagrams, National Distillers, and later worked as the Assistant Director for the Bureau of Elections, Lackawanna County. He was a former member and officer of the Jessup Lions Club, a member of the Elkview Country Club, and the Jessup Golf League.
He served as Chairman of the Jessup Planning Commission as well as Chairman of the Jessup Democratic Committee, and was a member of the Lackawanna County Democratic Committee. He was Secretary of the St. John’s Cemetery Association until the time of his death and was among one of the very first Ministers of Communion.
Robert was a caring and respectful man who lived his life for God and his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are son Dr. Wayne Weston, Olyphant; daughter Roberta Lee Weston, Archbald; grandchildren Daniel and Alexandra Weston; sister Ann Louise Giombetti and husband Dr. Joseph and their children Justin and Ashley; sister-in-laws Laura Migliaccio, Susan Sweeney and companion Lou Vitiello, and Santina Palazzari; uncle Philip Cappellini; several nieces, nephew, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Francis Migliaccio, Colombo and David Palazzari.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday in the church from 8:30 am until service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are under the care and directions of the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home 1003 Church St. Jessup.
