Obituary for Genevieve Larioni

Genevieve S. Larioni, a lifelong resident of Throop, died Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of John Joseph Larioni, who died on Aug. 23, 2002.
Born in Throop, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary Dodge Mayo. A graduate of Throop High School, class of 1945, she was the owner and operator of the Blue Corner Women’s and Children’s Shop in Throop before retirement. She was also the Queen of the Fedorables, local chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are sons, John Larioni Sr. and wife, Maria, Dickson City; and Jeffrey Larioni and wife, Joyce, Virginia; six grandchildren, John Jr., Cala, Jeff, Katen, Christopher and Dan; four great-grandchildren, Jason, Zach, Kyle and Ava; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Yolanda Scango and Eleanor Maio; brother, Alfred Mayo; and infant brother, Victor Mayo.
The funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Blessed Sacrament Parish, 215 Rebecca St., Throop. Interment, St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup.
Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday (today) from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517.
