Obituary for Daniel D. Degilio

Daniel D. Degilio of Jefferson Township died Monday December 31, 2019 at home. His wife of 37 years is the former Jackie Walter.
Born in Pittston he was the son of the late Jack and Betty Coolbaugh Richter. A graduate of Abington Heights High School, Class of 1968, prior to his retirement he was employed as a journeyman for Haddon Craftsman for 24 years until its closing, and then went on to work for Proctor & Gramble.
Daniel liked to garden. He was an avid sports fan who supported Penn State, the Boston Red Sox, and like to watch NHRA Racing. He has an impeccable taste in music and enjoyed going to concerts. He liked spending time at the shore, especially Seaside Park, New Jersey.
Dan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Eugene Harasym and his entire staff, to Home Health Care Professionals, and to close friend Bobby Kropiewnicki for all of their kind and compassionate care and support during Dan’s illness.
Also surviving are daughter Ashley Whelan and husband Kevin, Scranton; son Dan Degilio and fiancé Ariel Christiano, Old Forge; grandchildren Kevin, Patrick, Joseph, Molly and Timothy Whelan, and Angela Degilio; sister-in-law April Walter; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by infant daughter Jessica.
Funeral services and interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup will be private. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St. Jessup.
