Obituary for Bruce J. Kovatch

Bruce J. Kovatch of Jessup died Friday August 28, 2020 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital. His wife of 44 years is the former Ann O'Hara.
Born in Jessup he was the son of the late John and Elsie Coccodrilli Kovatch. A graduate of Jessup High School, Class of 1962. He proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam during the conflict where he was called in to decode the message in Vietnam that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Prior to retirement he was employed by Moore Business Forms as a press operator.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #411 Michael Steiner and VFW Post 5544, Jessup. He was a former member of Perkins Rod & Gun Club in Wayne County which is the oldest club in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a member of the former Jacoby Rod & Gun Club where Bruce enjoyed cooking for everyone.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jessup until its closing.
Bruce's family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you Dr. Pranav Loyalka and the entire transplant team at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston Texas for saving his life, and his current heart transplant doctor, Dr. Donna M. Mancini of Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, and also his cardiologist Dr. Kevin Olsen of Scranton.
Also surviving is nephew Paul Kovatch, Harrisburg; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and additional nieces nephews.
He was preceded in death by brother Leon Kovatch; nephew David Kovatch.
Private funeral services and interment with Military Honors in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst will be private.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup.
