Obituary for Margaret A. Ratchford

Margaret A. “Peggy” Ratchford of Jessup died Friday November 13, 2020 at St. Mary’s Villa. She is the wife of Thomas Ratchford, and they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on November 26th.
Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Anna Reap Costello. A graduate of Jessup High School, class of 1954, prior to retirement she was a longtime employee of Sugarman’s and also worked at Haband.
A woman of strong faith, Peggy was a member of Queen of Angels Parish in Jessup. She was also a member of her high school class reunion committee, where she thoroughly enjoyed planning year after year and seeing close friends.
Peggy’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Villa and to Allied Hospice for all of their kind and compassionate care.
Also surviving are son Thomas Ratchford and wife Teri, North Carolina; daughters Judy Walsh and husband Joseph, Jessup, and Leah Alco and husband Edward, Blakely; grandchildren Anna Ratchford, Alyssa and Arden Noto, Ryan Walsh and girlfriend Sabrina Lowell, Megan Bideganeta and husband Joe, Abigail and Emily Walsh, and E.J. and Aidan Alco; great-grandchildren Joseph, Mila, and Saylor Bideganeta; brother-in-law Girard Mullen; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Jill Ratchford; brother Joseph Costello; sister Mary “Sheila” Mullen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday in Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael’s Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. Due to COVID restrictions, services will be private. Friends and family may pay their respects by walking through on Wednesday from 9-10:30 am in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St. Jessup. CDC social distancing guidelines will be enforced, and face masks will be required. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Villa, 516 Saint Mary's Villa Road, Elmhurst Township, PA 18444, or to Allied Hospice 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
