Obituary for Robert A. Santarelli

Robert A. Santarelli, 83, of Jessup died January 1, 2021 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Delores Kubilus Santarelli who died on August 3, 2000.
Born in Herrick Center, he was the son of the late Anthony “Happy” and Mary Maslar Santarelli. A graduate of Jessup High School, prior to retirement he was employed as a plant manager for Casual Sportswear. He was also the proprietor of G&R Auto Sales in Jessup, which was his “second home.”
Bob was known to have a big heart where his door was always open to express words of wisdom and lend a helping hand.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Involved in the community he volunteered with the Jessup Youth Sports Association and coached football and Little League.
Bob’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of the 3rd floor and ICU Regional Hospital of Scranton for their warm and compassionate care.
Surviving are sons Ronald R. and Anthony J. Santarelli, both of Jessup; grandchildren Ronald Jr., Robert and wife Chelsea, Anthony Jr., and Gino; great-grandchildren Matthew, and triplets Gianna, Ronnie, and R.J.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends who became like family.
He was preceded in death by sister Marie Coulthard.
A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 11:30 am in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup. Friends and family may pay their respects Wednesday from 10:30 am until service time. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced and masks will be required, so please walk through quickly and do not make any physical contact.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Center, 2010 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509; The Ladies in Pink, Jessup; or the donors favorite charity.
