Obituary for Stephen A. Baronski

Stephen A. Baronski of Peckville died Monday May 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. His wife of 42 years is the former Michele Chekansky.

Born in Blakely, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Sasfai Baronski. He was educated in the Olyphant schools and was a graduate of Johnson Technical School. He was a well-known cabinet maker who found his passion in his work. The most important thing in Steve’s life was caring for his wife and his sons. He was a lifetime member of Excelsior Hose Company and the Carpenter Local Union #645.

Also surviving are sons Jeff and wife Toni, Clarks Summit, Michael and wife Michele, Peckville, and Stephen and girlfriend Stephanie Gillette, Carbondale; grandchildren Brittany, Jack, Deven and Nikolai; several cousins, nieces and nephews who loved him as “TaTa.”
The family would like to thank the extraordinary Hospice of the Sacred Heart staff.

The funeral will be Friday with Divine Liturgy at 10am in SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 River St., Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, pastor. Everyone attending is kindly asked to proceed directly to the church. Interment with Military Honors to follow in Parish Cemetery, Peckville. Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday from 5-7 pm in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
