Obituary for Loretta Thomas

Loretta Thomas, 73, of Olyphant, died Wednesday, June 9. She’s survived by her loving partner of almost 40 years, Robert Frost.

Born on July 2, 1947, in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl Wiorkowski Bellan. She was a graduate of Blakely High School. Loretta graduated from Empire Beauty School in Scranton and worked as a private stylist. She and Robert then owned and operated the former Mama’s Pizza & Hoagies in Dunmore.

She loved nature and caring for her flowers. She also enjoyed sitting in her treehouse and watching and feeding the birds.

Loretta was a selfless person, always giving to others. She would brighten up every room she walked into and always seemed to know what to do or say and always had the answer. Her family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren who she loved with all her heart.

Surviving are daughters, Jennifer Thomas-Wilson and husband, Patrick of Dickson City; and Amy Thomas and partner, Eric Richey of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren, Brandon and Samantha Wilson and Marcus and Sekora Richey; sister, Mary Ann and Dan Corazzi of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother, Edward and Donna Bellan of Solon, Ohio; her dear friend, Alice Cleary; nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

A celebration of Loretta’s life will be held July 2.

Loretta’s last act of kindness was giving the gift of life. In her honor, do something nice for someone or give to nature and plant a tree or flowers in her name.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup.
