Obituary for John M. Rogan Jr.

John M. Rogan Jr., 64, of Jessup died after an illness Monday June 21, 2021 at the Geisinger C.M.C. His wife of 35 years is the former Debora Drexler.

Born in Scranton he was the son of the late John Sr. and Agnes Sweeney Rogan. Educated in Maryland schools John earned an Associates Degree from Luzerne County Community College, a
Bachelors Degree from Slippery Rock University, and a Masters Degree in Theology from ISCL.

John is the founder of Hands of Love Ministries, a visitation-based ministry to hospitals, nursing homes and prisons, where he ministered for over 25 years. He also made several missions trips to Guatemala, Romania, and Moldova. John was a student of the Word and would study his Bible and worship for hours every day until his illness.

Also surviving are sister Patricia Rogan and husband Dr. Gary Ciuba, Ohio; cousin Margaret Mary Conway, father and mother-in-law Karl and Judy Drexler, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by cousin Patrick Conway, aunts Mary Rogan and Anne Conway, and uncle Harry Conway.

The family would like to especially thank Janice, Kristina, and Nicole of Traditional Home Health, caregivers Morgan and Kristen, and niece Alyssa as well as Dr Louis Kareha and staff for their care over the last several months.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 10 at 11 am in The
Worship Center of NEPA, 418 Mary St., Old Forge. Friends and family may pay their respects from 10 am until service time in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s memory can be made to The Worship Center missions fund or to donor’s favorite charity.
