Sandra Moran of Archbald died Tuesday August 29, 2017 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit. Her husband is David Moran and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 23rd.
Born in Peckville she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Angeline Smargiassi Nogick. Sandra’s mother died at a young age and her Aunt Grace Smargiassi helped raise her.
A graduate of Archbald High School Class of 1965, prior to her retirement she was employed in the local garment industry. Before her illness Sandra and David would enjoy going to Florida for the winters and visiting Walt Disney World.
Sandy was a very active member of Christ the King Parish volunteering her time, especially for the annual picnic. She played the accordion and was a great fan of Lawrence Welk and Myron Floren.
Sandra’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Williams and staff, Dr. Henry Yeager, and to the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of their compassionate care.
Also surviving are daughter Lisa Vagnetti and husband Keith, Sturges; sister Joyce Squirlock and husband Lester, Mt. Cobb; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 8:30 A.M. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Church, 417 Main St. Eynon. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish 411 Church St. Archbald, PA 18403.
